Android Accessibility Services are designed to help users with disabilities in overcoming any difficulties using their devices. It allows apps to take advantage of these benefits by being able to perform tasks they wouldn't ordinarily be able to do, such as reading the contents of the screen or automatically clicking on buttons.
Not all applications using the Accessibility Service are specifically designed for those with disabilities, however. Apps such as Adaptive Wallpaper Changer can also use these services in order to provide or enhance functionality that wouldn't ordinarily be possible.
Adaptive Wallpaper Changer launches the Android 'Live Wallpaper Picker' and accesses data using the Accessibility Service in order to read the contents of its screen. The data is used so that the application can automatically click on the 'Set wallpaper' button. This allows the application to change to the chosen live wallpapers at different intervals without requiring user interaction. No other applications or screens are observed and no data is collected or shared using these services.
Adaptive Wallpaper Changer shares precise location-based data with a third party 'OpenWeather' for the purpose of obtaining local information such as the weather or temperature, but does not store this data at any time and is used only in determining when to change the wallpaper.
Adaptive Wallpaper Changer accesses installed app data for the sole purpose of retrieving installed live wallpapers so that they can be listed and selected by the user. None of this data is collected or shared and only installed live wallpapers are accessed, no other installed app data is read.
Adaptive Wallpaper Changer collects and stores purchase history data including the user's unique purchase token, date, the number of reinstalls and what in-app purchase was made. Plus, any voided purchases, if for example a refund was given. No other personal identifiable information is stored or transmitted. This data is used for preventing fraudulent installs, issuing refunds and restoring purchases if the app is installed on a new device.
Adaptive Wallpaper Changer accesses a user's call log on Android 8.1 devices and below in relation to a specific theme 'Friend Calls' only. This is to determine what number is currently calling so that the wallpaper can be changed to one the user has selected for that number.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
